Since International Working Women’s Day, readers of The Partisan have made our editorial board aware of a new statement for IWWD issued by the Communist Organization (USA) that was recently published by a relatively new website called The Weapon of Theory. After reaching out to the website, they informed us that they launched this February for the purpose of curating and hosting selected texts from the modern and historical International Communist Movement for study, and had been shared the Communist Organization statement, entitled Celebrate IWWD By Forging a Revolutionary Women’s Movement!, on March 8th.

After studying the document, our editorial board asked The Weapon of Theory for permission to share the document for our audience, which they kindly granted. After our study, we found unity with the statement’s contents, analysis, and calls, and assessed that it would be useful for comrades in many areas for initiating and/or rectifying their attempts at organizing work in the women’s sector. You can read the document by clicking here, and we encourage all our readers to study, discuss, and struggle for unity over the document, in particular it analysis and calls (which we reproduce below) for the revolutionary women’s movement:

  1. Politicize, mobilize, and organize the women masses, in particular women workers and nationally oppressed women, through the creation and expansion of both organizationally independent and departmental forms of women’s work. Discard subjectivism and sectarian criteria and unite with all those who can be united with based on the three correct united front criteria of principles, program, and practice.
  2. Plan and develop campaigns and protocols to combat and defeat male chauvinism and anti-women practices in the ranks of revolutionary and mass organizations, utilizing the four key weapons of political education, two line-struggle, practice in class struggle, and criticism/self- criticism, and guarding against liberalism of all forms during the conduct of these campaigns.
  3. Place a particular focus on women’s work at the point of production and in the proletarian and poor neighborhoods and communities. It is in the field of labor, and its compliment in social reproduction – the home and thus the neighborhood – that the great and defining battles of the revolutionary women’s movement will be fought.
  4. Creatively apply the calls to develop a mighty revolutionary women’s movement to the masses of women in the oppressed nations and national minorities, the immigrant women, and LGBT women, defending their interests as they are targeted by the ongoing reactionary offensive, taking into account universal and particular aspects, and applying the only Marxist tactic of going to the deepest and most profound masses.
  5. Combine the four above tasks to work to confront and defeat the ongoing capitalist offensive on the women masses, and raise up a wave of powerful women leaders who will be an invincible force of the multinational US proletariat and its socialist revolution.
