The Partisan is a new publication launched by revolutionary workers, activists and organizers in the United States for the purpose of centralizing and publicizing reports, summations, news and articles related to our struggles and the issues facing the multinational US working class. For too long, despite the growing unity of revolutionary organizations in the US, our writing and media production has been scattered and “silo-ed” between our various different areas and sectors. This has meant that to keep up with all the activity occurring nationally, supporters have had to follow literally dozens of different social media accounts, websites, and publications. While our sectoral publications still play a very key theoretical and practical role in our work, the time has clearly come to start building up the foundation for a unified revolutionary news service that can take up the task of centralizing, sharing, and synthesizing lessons from the great mass of revolutionary activity going on nationally.
Why choose the name Partisan? We chose this name for the title of our new publication because a partisan is a “strong supporter” of a cause, someone who is willing to fight for what they believe in. It is our belief and mission at The Partisan that the writers and readers of our publication should be partisans of our class, partisans of our revolution. That we must never be passive observers of the struggles going on around us, but instead be active participants in them, be willing to fight for our collective interests and for the revolutionary cause of the workers and oppressed peoples of the world.
We at The Partisan invite all those who want to be partisans of our class, the international working class, and our cause, socialist revolution, to reach out and get in touch, get connected, and get involved. To make the jump from a passive supporter to a partisan!
