In celebration of International Working Women’s Day, this week The Partisan is publishing a multi-part series highlighting and sharing images and news we have received from revolutionary organizations and their supporters around the country on agitation, propaganda, actions, and events held to commemorate IWWD 2025. This article is the second installment in the series; the first installment was published this past Sunday and be read by clicking here. The third and final update on IWWD in the US will be published later in the week. Long Live International Working Women’s Day!

Chicago, Illinois

The Partisan received images from an educational event held in Chicago Illinois in celebration of IWWD during which there was a discussion of a series of public sexual assaults in the Chicago neighborhood of Logan Square, as well as images from a rally against deportations held on International Working Women’s Day (March 8th). In addition The Partisan also received images of IWWD posters and revolutionary graffiti with the slogan “Long Live IWWD March 8!” seen by local contacts.

Durham, North Carolina

The Partisan received images from a film screening of “Eyes of The Rainbow”, a documentary about BLA militant Assata Shakur’s time as a political prisoner, which was held in Durham, North Carolina for IWWD. The screening was followed by a discussion of conditions of Black women in prison and the United State’s role in the triple oppression of Black working women, and the oppression of Black people as a whole.

Edmond, Oklahoma

The Partisan received images from a study and discussion event on women’s emancipation and proletarian feminism held in Edmond, Oklahoma for IWWD. [note – unfortunately most images of the event were lost due to a technical issue, but local comrades were luckily able to salvage a few photos to share with The Partisan for this series.]

Washington DC

The Partisan received images from a film screening of Salt of the Earth, held in Washington DC for IWWD, which was followed by a discussion on how the film portrayed the woman question as well as how the question is relevant to issues and conditions in the workplace. The Partisan also received images from the national IWWD agitprop campaign in the city as well.
