The Partisan is excited to share the first edition of the ongoing Revolutionary Student Union weekly bulletin produced in collaboration with our editorial board. We hope that this series will serve to provide an overview of current events with a class-conscious perspective, and discuss topics and events which we may not have covered in our articles.
National: ICE Raids Spark Resistance in Multiple States.

Across the country, the US State’s mass ICE raids have triggered widespread protests, neighborhood self-defense, and mass mobilizations in response. The People’s Defense Committee salutes the mass resistance to ICE terror, from Los Angeles to elsewhere in the country, as a powerful stand by the multinational working class against State repression. Nonetheless, spontaneous uprisings are not enough, and there is a pressing need to build long-term, organized people’s defense to confront ICE and all agents of the capitalist state.
Revolutionaries-in-formation must learn directly from both past and present uprisings in order to avoid making the same errors again and again. There is a need to both broaden and deepen the natural and justified uprising of the masses into a real movement. The particular struggle must be tied to US imperialism globally, and the State tactic of dividing the masses must be opposed by linking together the struggles of working people generally. The non-immigrant masses must be mobilized in defense of the immigrant masses. For example, during the recent spontaneous uprising of immigrants at the Delaney Hall ICE detention facility, community members in Newark, NJ, mobilized to defend the detainees and block police reinforcement. Four detained immigrants escaped custody, although three were detained again afterwards. Read more about the experience and strategic implications of this action in the interview here.
National: Immigrant Students Forced to Unlock Social Media
The US State Department has announced a new directive requiring all foreign students and exchange visitors to make their social media accounts public before receiving F, M, or J visas. Consular officers are now ordered to comb through applicants’ online activity for signs of supposed hostility towards the US, including “criticism of its founding principles, government, or its allies.”
This is a calculated move to isolate class conscious students, suppress revolutionary thinking, and prevent the organization of class-conscious principled mass organizations in the universities. The goal is to prevent students, especially international and oppressed-nations students, from uniting with the working class, taking up the anti-imperialist struggle, and remolding themselves into revolutionaries in the process.
The correct response is to build a militant, organized student movement under proletarian leadership, a movement capable of upholding proletarian internationalism and resisting all attempts by the US State to crush the rising tide of anti-imperialist resistance from within its own institutions.
Michigan: ICE Deports Detroit High School Senior on Field Trip

Maykol Bogoya Duarte, 18, was deported to Colombia on June 19 after being arrested by Border Patrol during a school field trip. A student at Western International High School in Detroit, Duarte had just 3.5 credits left to graduate.
Stopped by local police for a minor traffic violation, Duarte was handed over to federal agents, a clear example of how local police collaborate with ICE to disappear immigrant youth. His case drew mass support from over 1,800 petition signers, including teachers, classmates, and elected officials. ICE denied his appeal and removed him anyway, showing the system’s absolute contempt for immigrant students and public pressure alike.
The student movement must take up the fight to crush ICE-police collaboration and defend working-class, migrant, and oppressed youth from political repression and forced removal.
War on Iran Update: Ceasefire Declared

Hours after US airstrikes against Iran ignited a regional firestorm and Iran retaliated with missiles on US bases in Qatar, President Trump announced a “complete and total ceasefire” between Israel and Iran. Iran confirmed it would halt attacks if Israel ended its strikes by 4 a.m., but Israel has yet to publicly confirm whether or not it will comply.
This ceasefire is a tactical pause in a war driven by imperialist domination. It must be clear clear: US imperialism is the principal enemy of the people of the world, and it is our duty to take up the fight against it from within. The masses must be politicized on the relationship between US imperialism and oppression within our country, be mobilized against the class enemy, and ultimately organized into class-conscious militant popular organizations in a variety of sectors. Read more in the recent Partisan editorial on the matter.
On this subject, the Revolutionary Student Union upholds that the student movement must unite with the working class and oppressed peoples, raise the banner of anti-imperialism high, and organize to turn every school into a shining trench of combat. Read RSU’s full statement here.
National: Big Tech Officers, Student Targets
Top executives from Palantir, Meta, and OpenAI have been commissioned as Army Reserve lieutenant colonels, bypassing basic training in order to advise on AI weapons, surveillance systems, and recruitment strategies. Their unit, Detachment 201, is a pilot for deeper tech-military fusion.
For the student sector, this marks a sharpening of the contradiction. Universities are already home to defense contracts, weapons labs, and recruitment centers. Now, their top graduates, engineers, programmers, and designers, are being pulled directly into the US war machine.
But revolutionary students have another path: we must become combatants for socialist revolution, and be disciplined, organized, and rooted in the masses. The university is not neutral, but rather it is a reserve base of the bourgeoisie, instilling the ideology and technologies of imperialist war among students to replenish the ranks of the capitalist class. Our role is not to abandon education, but to transform it into a site of class struggle by building mass organizations under proletarian leadership that serve as an auxiliary to independent labor.
We must fight military recruiters, expose university partnerships with Zionism and imperialist war, and link student struggles to those of the working class and oppressed peoples. As the bourgeois tech elite fuse with the US military, we must build a revolutionary student movement that serves the people, combats imperialism in practice, and prepares the terrain for socialist revolution.
Philippines: Red Fighters Honor Ka Louie, Revolutionary Leader of the Filipino People

On June 12, NPA units across the Philippines held silent 21-gun salutes for Ka Luis “Ka Louie” Jalandoni, a lifelong servant of the people and towering figure in the Filipino revolution. Fighters gathered at dawn to reaffirm their oath to carry forward the people’s war and emulate Ka Louie’s unwavering commitment to revolution.
Ka Louie’s life is a lesson in class struggle. He left behind the privileges of his class to serve the masses, not in word but in action. He showed that true education means integrating with the people, learning from their struggles, and placing knowledge in the service of revolution. His legacy is a call to people everywhere: serve the people, take up the fight, and go to the masses.

Brazil: Revolutionary Students Back People’s War in India

Student and youth revolutionary organizations in Brazil have joined the international call to support the People’s War in India, responding to the appeal from the Communist Party of India (Maoist). The MEPR (Revolutionary People’s Student Movement) released a video condemning the genocidal Kagaar operation and expressing full solidarity with India’s oppressed and adivasi (indigenous) peoples. In the video, MEPR declared:
“Away from Brazil, we, of the youth’s and students’ revolutionary organizations, condemn the genocide Kagaar operation of the Indian Old State against the indigenous and, in particular, the tribal people from the center of India. This will be only one of all frustrated plans of the fascists intending to destroy the Maoists of India, which will be defeated by the invincible People’s War leaded by the heroic Communist Party of India (Maoist). With profound internationalist spirit, we convoke all students and youth of Brazil and whole world to take an active part in this struggle with us!
Down with the Kagaar operation of fascist Modi!
Long live the People’s War in India! Long live the People’s War in India!
Long Live Communist Party of India (Maoist)!”
The student sector must take up proletarian internationalism as a living principle, it is the first task and highest form of service to the working class both here and abroad to struggle for a socialist revolution, and to sweep US imperialism into the dustbin of history once and for all.
Colombia: Youth Join the Peasant Struggle for La Sonora
More than 100 peasant families are once again reclaiming the La Sonora latifundium (feudal land) in Cesar, Colombia, 1000 hectares of land with a violent past. The land, formerly used as a paramilitary training center, has been abandoned by its owner and is now the site of renewed struggle by displaced and landless peasants. With the landlords hoarding land and many peasants having none, the occupation and reclamation of the land for the masses of people is a just act in the face of both semifeudal and imperialist oppression.
Youth are playing an active and visible role in the recovery effort. Their participation challenges the widespread claim that the younger generation has abandoned rural life. These youth, many from families shaped by previous land reclamations and popular uprisings, are organizing and defending the territory with deep conviction. They prove that, despite any and all harsh repression, the masses are willing to fight for a better world.
