Revolutionary organizations across the United States carried out actions and events to commemorate Black August 2026 in the spirit of the Black/New Afrikan revolutionary tradition. Black August is an important month in the revolutionary calendar, and commemorates the many martyrs of the Black liberation movement in the United States, in particular George and Jonathon Jackson who were martyred during the month of August.

The constituent organizations of the Revolutionary Front – Frente Revolucionario (RF-FR), and their fraternal publications like The Partisan, share a powerful unity around the importance of the National Question for revolutionaries in the United States. They raise the demand of self-determination for all oppressed nations, both within the United States and outside of it.

For Black August 2026, member organizations of the RF-FR carried out extensive joint work with revolutionary and mass organizations devoted to African and Black/New Afrikan liberation, including national groups like Malcolm X Grassroots Movement, Jericho Movement, the All-African People’s Revolutionary Party (AAPRP), Black Alliance for Peace (BAP), and many other local/regional/sectoral organizations.

Local chapters and united front committees held teach-ins, prisoner letter-writing events, mass meetings, fundraisers, and cultural events, all linked to concrete and militant struggles among nationally oppressed communities. Special attention was paid to the struggle of comrades within prisons, such as Kevin Rashid Johnson, Shaka Sakur, Mumia Abu Jamal, Reverend Joy Powell, Keith LaMar, and other comrades and masses incarcerated by the genocidal US State.

The Revolutionary Front – Frente Revolucionario raises up the banner of Black August proudly, and looks forward to a full year of national liberation and prisoner freedom work leading up to Black August 2027.
